A signpost has been ripped out of the ground in Worcester and a fence - located nearby - has been torn down.
But mystery surrounds what has happened in the area.
The signpost in Hylton Road, adjacent to Sabrina Bridge, has been pulled up out of the ground while a fence, situated in-between the bridge and Worcester University Arena, has been knocked down.
An electricity supply box has also been knocked over and the bark of a tree has been damaged. It is unknown what the cause is of the damage.
However, a maintenance team from Highways are set to investigate the issue.
The vandalism was only reported to Worcestershire County Council today, despite eyewitnesses claiming the signpost was ripped out over a week ago.
A spokesman from the county council said: “We can confirm that this has been highlighted to us this morning and the issues have been referred to our maintenance team for them to investigate and resolve.
“No information was passed to us on how the sign was damaged.”
