THESE dramatic pictures show a car on fire in the early hours of this morning in a city street.
The car was on fire at the end of Lowell Street, Arboretum, next to the canal at around 2.37am.
Joe Singh, who captured dramatic pictures of the fire, said: "I called the police at 2.55am after I heard popping and banging sounds outside my girlfriend's house.
"I went outside and some neighbours were in the street.
"One of them had called the fire brigade who arrived about 10 mins later. They had to work hard to put the fire out but succeeded after about 20 mins.
"At one point the car parked in front of the one in flames caught fire, but that was quickly dealt with. "The owner of that vehicle was obviously alerted as she met a police officer who arrived on duty who asked her to move her vehicle."
A spokesman from West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were initially called at 2.37am.
"One car, understood to be abandoned, was well alight, and the fire was extinguished using one hole reel.
"There were no casualties."
