A ROBBER ran across a busy dual-carriageway after robbing a passing pedestrian.

The thief headed across the A38 in Droitwich towards King George's Playing Fields after robbing a man of his wallet in the underpass at about 6.15pm.

The victim was walking home towards Park Way when the incident happened on Thursday, October 4. As he came out of the subway the attacker grabbed him from behind and seemed to poke something - presumed by the victim to be a weapon - in his back. The offender ordered the victim to not turn around and hand over his wallet.

The thief made off towards Meadow Walk but the victim followed him and confronted him. At this point the thief threw the wallet back and ran off across the A38.

A police spokesman said: "To see someone running across a busy dual-carriageway is obviously very unusual and would seem shocking and dangerous to any drivers travelling along the A38 at that time.

"The offender was wearing a very distinctive red top with a motif and the hood pulled up at the time and we hope anyone who saw him, or has any information on the robbery gets in touch."

The robber is described as white, aged 18 to 20 years old, about 5ft 11in and of slim build. He was wearing a red hooded top - with a cap possibly under the hood - and light blue jeans.
