SOME unusual new pupils have taken up places at a Worcester school as part of an environment project.
A number of life-size scarecrows are now resident at Cranham Primary School in Tetbury Drive.
Children at the school made the scarecrows as part of National Children's Book Week last week, which followed the theme of the environment.
Headteacher Valerie Holland said: "We set a competition for children to make scarecrows at home out of recycled materials. They were really wonderful creations and the children, and their families, put a lot of hard work in to making them."
