COUNCIL'S in Worcestershire and Herefordshire are set to receive a share of a £3m fund to help flood victims.
The British Red Cross is making grants to local authorities from its National Floods Appeal, to help communities recover from the summer's floods.
Wychavon District Council is set to receive £135,900, Malvern Hills District Council £72,000 and Wyre Forest District Council £60,660. Hereford District Council has been granted £34,290.
Margaret Lally, head of the charity's UK service development said: "Many people continue to face difficulties resulting from the damage to their homes and livelihoods.
"The stress of dealing with these problems also has an impact on people's lives.
"The public's generosity to our appeal will enable local organisations on the ground help those most in need.
"These grants complement the other schemes which have made money available to help communities recover."
Last month authorities were invited to apply for grants to help those most in need, such as the elderly, disabled or those on low incomes.
The Red Cross played a leading role in the response to the flooding across the UK, delivering food, water and hygiene kits to victims.
Further grants are expected to be made to other areas in the coming weeks.
