OVER 240 singers from across Europe will descend upon Worcester Cathedral for one off concert next weekend.

Midland Festival Chorus will be joined by singers from France, Guernsey and Austria, when they perform Dvorak's Stabat Mater at Worcester Cathedral on Saturday, October 13.

Also taking part in the choral spectacular will be four soloists from the Czech Republic and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

"The choir and this event is unique," said Midland Festival Chorus musical director Malcolm Goldring.

"Our annual concerts at Worcester Cathedral are a highlight in our performance calendar and we try to make each one special and memorable.

"We are delighted to be performing Dvorkak's Stabat Mater with some of the Czech Republic's best soloists, and we are proud that they have agreed to fly over to Britain specifically for this concert. Equally, we are delighted to be working with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra again, and have no doubt that their presence will make this event even more exciting."
