ATTEMPTS were made to burgle at least two homes in the same road on the same day, leaving villagers shocked.
The burglaries in Fernhill Heath are believed to have been committed by men who posed as traders.
Police are investigating the daylight house burglaries that all happened in Droitwich Road, understood to be near to the Spar, on Tuesday.
In the first, a house was burgled between 8.20am and 6.15pm, with a watch stolen after offenders broke in. Police say enquiries are continuing as to whether anything else was taken.
In the second, the window of a front door was smashed but the offenders were not able to break into the property, and nothing was stolen.
The attempted break in happened between 1.30pm and 4.10pm.
On the Fernhill Heath Village Facebook group it was claimed a third property was targeted, but police have not confirmed that.
The post also claimed the offenders who carried out the burglaries had been knocking on doors pretending to sell things and if they received no answer, they “smash and grab and go”.
“After jewellery, cash and gift cards etc - anything they can get rid of fast. Just keep an eye out and share with the locals. Seems to be happening in the day time,” the post added.
Police constable support officer Steven Tinkler said: “We have had two burglaries reported to us and CCTV reviewed.
“Also, on December 18, we had reports of ‘Nottingham Knockers’ in the area - the group that go round selling household items out of bags.
“I would urge anyone with any information or footage to contact 101 with reference 587s, and for people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Residents in Fernhill Heath yesterday told the Worcester News they were shocked and worried, and a ‘No Traders’ sign was put on the door of one property,
Another resident who did not want to be named also told us he had seen extra police in the area, including two police cars parked up in Agatha Gardens, off Droitwich Road, yesterday morning.
On the Facebook post Tina Newton said: “This makes me so angry, how dare they steal from hard working families.”
