AN MP is sending out his own annual report to every home in mid-Worcestershire to tell voters what he has been up to.

Peter Luff's self-audit outlines the various campaigns and concerns he has been involved with during the last 12 months, and also takes a look back on what has been a challenging summer for Worcestershire's residents and businesses.

"The past few months have not been easy for many in the county," he writes. "The floods in our county, worse even than the dreadful floods of 1998, were a devastating blow to hundreds of homeowners, businesses, farmers and growers. However, just as in 1998, the people of mid-Worcestershire have shown their resolve and determination to get through this difficult period. In the face of extreme pressures our ambulance, fire, police and armed services excelled themselves."

He also praised the work of both Worcestershire County Council and Wychavon District Council in coping with the floods, and has made a promise to fight for better funding for flood protection and the prevention of developing housing on flood plains.

Within his report Mr Luff also writes about post office closures, railway services, and canals in Droitwich, as well as highlighting what he does in his role as chairman of the Trade and Industry Select Committee, which is about to be re-named the Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Select Committee.

The report also contains a section telling people what an average week is like for an MP, and tells constituents how to get in touch with him if they have any problems or issues they want him to follow up.
