SKY diving and abseiling down the orbit on the Olympic Park are just a few of the activities a man indulged in to raise money for charity.
The efforts of Jason Callaghan, a trainee assistant manager from Majestic Bingo in Worcester, helped him raise a total of £1,000 for the children’s charity, Variety.
The charity is dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people who are disabled, sick or disadvantaged.
Mr Callaghan said: “It has been a pleasure raising money for the charity as a club and toward Majestic Bingo Limited’s grand total. Seeing how and where this money is being spent made the journey worth it.”
The 16 bingo clubs of Majestic Bingo Limited raised a grand total of £132,063.81 over four years for Variety. The average sum of money raised per club has been over £2,000, each year.
Mark Jepp, managing director of Majestic Bingo, said: “It’s all down to our dedicated clubs and their generous customers, we can’t thank them enough.
“We’re proud to have pulled off some very unique events which not only motivates the staff to get involved, it keeps our customers engaged. Clubs really got behind the Moon and Back event to help bring the concept to life.”
Representatives from Majestic Bingo attended a parliamentary reception on November 20 in recognition of their efforts.
They were joined by charity champions from other bingo operators, customers and Variety ambassadors.
