FEARLESS fire walkers are needed to take part in a charity challenge with a difference.
Acorns Children's Hospice, in Bath Road, Worcester, has teamed up with Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove and Webbs Garden Centre, to organise a fund-raising fire walk.
Fifty brave members of the public are being asked to take part in the challenge which will see them walk over a 20ft long course of burning wood embers without experiencing any pain or injury.
Those who sign up will be trained by firewalking experts. They'll receive motivational training and expert tuition before the walk, on Friday, November 23, in order to prepare them for the challenge.
Fran Winterbourn, Acorns three counties fund-raiser, said: "To raise funds for two local hospices in such a challenging way is an exciting concept.
"This will really be a unique experience for everyone taking part. It's been proven to increase confidence and self-esteem and can turn fears into positive action.
"Expert guidance is given in advance of the challenge and certificates of achievement presented at the end."
Participants must be 16 or over and have the option to raise funds for Acorns, which cares for life-limited children, or Primrose, which provides care and support to adults living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses such as Motor Neurone Disease. They must raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
