MORE than 40 football mad children took part in a fun day at Elgar High School and raised over £700.
The event was organised by Worcester Lions Community FC, a voluntary group which offers sports skills sessions for youngsters every week.
The day, at the Bilford Road school, was held to raise awareness of the club's new multi-skills programme which teaches children about balance, agility, co-ordination, running, jumping and throwing every Saturday between 10am and 11.30am for £1 a week.
Organiser Sue Bentley said: "The money raised will go towards a container to store the equipment and keep the impact going."
She added thanks to businesses including Perdiswell sports centre, Nunnery Wood sports centre, Bowl Extreme, Worcester Porcelain and Tesco who all contributed prizes.
