A 'CALL the Midwife' star will appear in a choir at a local venue.
Jennifer Kirby, who plays nurse Valerie Dyer in the BBC’s 'Call the Midwife' is to appear with the Silurian Choir at Pershore Abbey on Saturday, November 3 from 7.30pm.
Miss Kirby attended Malvern St James School and was brought up in the village of Longdon.
The concert, entitled, “Reflections on the Unknown Soldier” will consist of choral pieces from the choir and a selection of World War 1 poetry read by Miss Kirby.
The evening will include an orchestral performance of Mozart’s Requiem. The bass soloist will be Andrew Thompson who is a member of the choir of St. George’s Chapel, Windsor and has sung in this capacity at the two recent royal weddings. Other solo parts will be sung by choir members.
The conductor of the choir and orchestra is John Wilderspin and the orchestra leader is George Ewart.
