THE family and friends of missing student Tom Jones have highlighted his last known movements, in the latest bid to help find him.
It has been over a week since the 18-year-old disappeared on his way home after a night out in the city centre, during freshers week.
The teenager had only arrived in the city days before going missing in the early hours of September 19.
Family friend Harley Hetherington wrote on the Find Jonah Facebook group that a timeline with false information had been circulated.
Writing on the group, Mr Hetherington has clarified that Tom did not send a Snapchat at 3.51am. Instead he wrote: "The last known contact we have with Tom was at 3.46am when he sent a message on messenger to his flatmate.”
The Worcester News has previously been told by Tom Jones’ parents that Tom went to Velvet nightclub before walking home, during which time they think he doubled back to buy a drink.
Vicki and Ian Jones said police have told them they believe Tom crossed Sabrina Bridge before walking along the path at the top of Hylton Road flood defences, towards Hallow.
They say he messaged his flatmates to say he was “two minutes away” just before 3.50am - but that is the last known of his whereabouts.
A story on the family’s appeal for information, in which they hoped to jog people’s memories of the hour between 3.30am and 4.30am that morning, was viewed more than 30,000 times on the Worcester News website yesterday.
Commenting on the story Stacy Worrall wrote: “Hope the family get some answers they need”, while Lily Ioannou said: “Our thoughts are with you. Praying for his safe return.”
MP Robin Walker tweeted: “I know there had already been a phenomenal public response to this appeal in Worcester but the search is still on and I hope anyone with information will contact police.”
Meanwhile the appeal has continued to be shared nationally, including on a scoreboard at The Hawthorns during West Bromwich Albion's cup match on Tuesday night.
Tom is a keen West Bromwich Albion fan, and was involved in the youth setup at Bromsgrove Sporting Football Club.
Anyone with any information, however small, is urged to call police on 101, quoting 431S.
