TRIBUTES have been paid following the death a popular member of the community.
Amelia Allen, formerly Ponting, worked at Kitchen World in Worcester, for many years, and was a valued member of her family’s business.
Mrs Allen’s daughter Hayley Sherwood said: “Our beautiful mum Amelia Allen passed away Friday, August 17, aged 59.
"She had been battling with cancer since November 2016.
"Her condition deteriorated in April this year and she passed away peacefully at St Richards Hospice.”
Mrs Sherwood said Mrs Allen was a fun and loving mum to her three children, including her, Mark and Gary, as well as a much-loved mother-in-law, and granny to her two grandsons.
She was married for more than 30 years to Michael Allen, who was also director at Kitchen World, in Henwick Road, before he passed away in 2010.
Mrs Allen's funeral is taking place at Worcester Crematorium at 3.15pm on Tuesday, September 4.
Mrs Sherwood said: “Mum had requested no flowers but for all donations to be made to St Richards Hospice who cared for her amazingly.
"We will then be going to Manor Farm In Lower Wick afterwards to raise a glass to her.
"We would like to thank everyone for their support at this difficult time.”
