THE impact of a giraffe-themed sculpture trail on Worcester will be evaluated by Worcester BID.
Worcester Stands Tall is an art trail of 8ft tall giraffe sculptures due to arrive in the city in July.
Thirty fibreglass giraffe sculptures will form the interactive trail.
There will also be a collection of 23 giraffe calf sculptures decorated by school children, displayed through the city’s Crowngate Shopping Centre.
Once the trail has ended, the large sculptures will be auctioned to raise money for the St Richard’s Hospice Build 2020 Appeal.
Now, Worcester Business Improvement District (BID), has agreed to investigate the value the trail brings to the city.
Sara Matthews, Worcester Stands Tall project manager, said: “The BID’s evaluation of the project’s impact will give an essential, factual and unbiased insight into how Worcester Stands Tall benefits the economy, tourist industry, arts scene and more.”
Phoebe Dawson, Worcester BID manager, said: “We are so excited the trail is coming to Worcester. It is going to be great for our local businesses.”
The art trail begins on Monday, July 9 and runs until Sunday, September 16.
“We are also really pleased to be funding the evaluation of the trail so we can measure the impact Worcester Stands Tall has on the city’s tourism and economy.”
