A CAR used for target practice at Worcester Golf Range was set on fire by arsonists.

The burned out car was discovered on Saturday morning at the golf range in Weir Lane in the Lower Wick area of Worcester.

The car is used by golfers who use it as a target and try to hit it with their golf balls.

Joe Kibblewhite, assistant manager at Worcester Golf Range said: "Someone has unfortunately ruined the fun for everyone.

"It was there when we closed at 6pm on Friday night (January 19) but had gone by 8am on Saturday (January 20).

"It was kindly donated to us and people enjoyed trying to hit it.

"We cannot move it due partly to the wet weather and it has become a bit of an eyesore.

"I put it on Facebook and it has had 11,000 views, when most of our posts have about 100. So it has at least given us some publicity.

Anyone with information, contact police on 101 quoting incident number 225s of January 20.
