A FUNDRAISING group held a day of events to raise money for a local brain injury city.
Independent Fundraisers raised £725 for Headway Worcestershire by holding a coffee morning inside the Guildhall.
A prize tombola and craft stall also raised funds before the group held a bucket collection outside Asda in Worcester.
Neil Smith of Independent Fundraisers said: "We are delighted to be able to support Headway Worcestershire again this year and we have already organised the same again for 2018.
"Headway is also one of the mayor of Worcester's supported charities and it was good to see him getting involved on the day."
Headway Worcestershire is a charity based in Worcester who support brain injury survivors and their families across the county, providing them with crucial rehabilitation opportunities, as well as the chance to socialise, develop and interact with others with similar challenges.
Mandie Fitzgerald, fundraising and marketing manager at Headway said: "Without support, long term effects of brain injury often create complications such as anxieties, depressions and increased risk of suicide and crime. "Personality changes, uninhibited behaviour or amnesia are only a few effects hindering people from living a normal life."
Every year, nearly 3000 people in Worcestershire are admitted into hospital with an acquired brain injury with a third of those suffering life-changing injuries.
The fundraising group will be collecting outside Asda in Worcester on Saturday, December 16.
