TURKEYS escaped from a trailer following a crash near Droitwich.
Emergency services were called to the scene between the M5 junction 5 and the A38 Wychbold, just after 10am this morning Thursday, December 7.
The trailer, carrying 640 turkeys, overturned after becoming detached from the tractor pulling it.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance to the scene.
A crew from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is on the scene.
A spokesman from West Mercia Police said that paramedics had told them there were "no injuries to humans."
Scott Small, aged 43, of Himbleton, near Droitwich, was driving by at the time of the crash.
He said: "I was a little bit surprised - it's not often you see turkeys at Christmas running along the grass verges near the road.
"You can get passed quite quickly - but obviously everyone is slowing down to see the turkeys. "
He added: "They were on the on the grass verges half-an-hour ago with men holding them back."
The turkeys are being transferred into another vehicle.
Tweeting from HWFireControl, a spokesman from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crew from @HWFireDroitwich assisting @RSPCA_official @WMerciaPolice at overturned lorry on A38 M5 Junction 5 gyratory."
