I MOVED to Worcester 20 years ago. At the time I was working in Bristol as a university librarian and Worcester was the perfect location for my husband and I to commute from.
We chose to live in St John's because we thought it looked nice and quickly realised this was where we wanted to stay. We still live in the same house we bought all those years ago, I love it.
St John's is a great place to live. When our children were younger all of the activities they wanted to do such as football, athletics, rowing, and gymnastics were all pretty much on our doorstep. And with the river, the racecourse, The Hive and the Malverns there has always been plenty of choice for family activities and when visitors come to stay.
As my children are a bit older now I am really enjoying getting involved in new activities such as park run, book group and pilates, and trying out some lovely local walks I discovered on Worcestershire County Council's website. I am also back working, doing what I really love, working in St John's Library. I have only been in the job for eight months and it is very different from working in a university library but it is enormously rewarding. I can't believe how fast the time flies!
I would definitely say we are here to stay. Worcester is a really nice place to be.
