HEART of Worcestershire College's special education needs provision has been shortlisted for an award.
HoW College, has been shortlisted in the Excellent Practice in Further Education category, at this year’s nasen SEND Awards.
The nomination highlights the college’s ambitious drive towards ensuring provision for learners with disabilities takes centre stage in its curriculum development and delivery of learning opportunities.
Facilities include a sensory room, a mocked up flat to be used to support learners to develop independence skills, refurbished classroom areas and improved access to online facilities.
Claire Heywood, assistant principal inclusive and employer learning, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for this national award. This is also a great reflection for all the staff and the hard work they put in."
"This is great recognition for us and recognises the fantastic support given to us by the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and their unique investment with us on this project."
Winners are to be announced at the Museum of London, on Thursday, October 19.
