A WORCESTER restaurant has been named among the best in the country after being recommended in the Good Food Guide.
Saffrons Bistro, based in New Street, has been trading for 22 years and is the only restaurant to be included in the guide - which recognises the best restaurants across the country, and praises their chefs for their talent and commitment to excellence.
Expert inspectors dine anonymously at restaurants across the UK, paying their bill in full, to create a guide of the UK’s very best restaurants, pubs and hidden gems.
In the guide the restaurant has been commended for its “excellent” service and atmosphere.
On it website the restaurant describes its style of cuisine as British or European with the occasional bit of inspiration drawn in from further afield. On the menu are game, fish, seafood, steaks, cassoulets, risottos and salads.
Owners Nick and Chrissy Hunt have said of the announcement: “We are delighted to have received this recognition and would like to say a massive thank you to all of our staff for their hard work throughout this past year.
"With the increased choice of great restaurants across the city, we would also like to express our gratitude to our loyal customers who have kept the business trading for 22 years.
"To celebrate and thank you we will be offering all guests a free glass of Prosecco when they dine with us for the rest of this week.”
