LAURA Dean was named Support Staff of the Year.
The category was very well supported by readers who wanted to nominate many of those who work tirelessly in schools.
Laura won thanks to her passionate approach to and her “endless appetite for hard work.”
Her nomination read: “Laura is one of a kind whose loyalty and commitment to Pershore High School has been huge.
“We are immensey proud of her
Clive Corbett, headteacher at Pershore High School, said: “It was a fantastic achievement for Laura.
“Cally Rees, Sandie Roskelly and Andy Taynton were also finalists in a great evening for Pershore High School staff.”
He said both himself and laura were “delighted” that she had won the award.
“Laura is a real unsung heroine,” said Mr Corbett.
“ I can think of no one more deserving.”
The runners up were the Inclusion team at Birchensale Middle School, and Sandie Roskelly, from Pershore High School.
The Inclusion team had helped transform the school over ten years, giving pupils the chance to fulfil their potential.
Sandie Roskelly was described as honest, decent and also highly efficient, working long hours and with an amazingly ‘can-do’ attitude.
