A SMIGGLE store is coming to Worcester.
The popular stationery brand will move into the CrownGate, at the corner where Whittard of Chelsea was previously based.
The shop will open on Friday, June 30 and will create eight new jobs in the city.
The company has asked for permission to install an illuminated, hanging sign and a fascia sign outside the unit in Chapel Walk.
It has also applied for permission from Worcester City Council to make changes to the front of the store.
Smiggle, which started out in Australia, sells what it describes as fun, fashion-forward stationery.
John Cheston, managing director of Smiggle, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our store here in Worcester.
"There really is nothing like Smiggle anywhere else on the high street – and it will be great to see the public’s reaction when the doors open on June 30.
“It’s important for us to inject fun into everything we do – from product design to store design, we will always focus on delivering to our fans the most original and playful stationery possible.”
Whittard closed its doors in Worcester in January this year, after 17 years in the city.
At the time, Mark Dunhill, its chief executive, blamed declining footfall at the store.
