A WORCESTER road is set to be closed for almost two weeks for resurfacing work leading to criticisms from residents.
Camp Hill Road closed from today until Saturday April 15, with a diversion route of around a mile put in place through Battenhall Road and Battle Road.
Readers have reacted on Facebook, with many critical of the amount of time that the roadworks will take and the amount of roadworks in the city.
Steve Hobbs said: "2 weeks just to resurface this road?!
"Are they doing it by hand or something as that's a stupidly long time. Any other council would have it done in a fraction of the time.
"But then, this is Worcestershire's highways department we're talking about I suppose."
Jack Jackal Harrison added: "Anyone else feel like trying to get home through town is like some kind of crystal maze challenge?
"I have to navigate 6/7 zones to avoid road closures and traffic jams!"
But other readers believe that the work is necessary and backed the move.
Rob Stewart said: "It makes it harder to get home, but it's in serious need of a resurface so I'm glad they're doing the work."
Tim Ryland added: "At least when they're resurfacing, you can see people working, unlike the traffic lights in London Road which seem deserted most of the time."
Jon Fraser, highways manager, said: "This is carriageway resurfacing that has been planned for some time to improve the road surface following multiple works carried out by utility companies in the area.
"Residents have been made aware and a diversion is in place, with emergency and resident access maintained."
