A MAN was hurt in what has been described as an early hours "random scuffle while walking home."
The man was punched six or seven times in the face and suffered bruising around his left eye and a small cut to the top of his ear.
West Mercia Police said they were investigating a report of an assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Buttercup Walk, Malvern.
The assault was believed to have happened around 2am this morning when the victim was walking through the new estate off Leigh Sinton Road.
Officers said he described how he was passing a man and a woman by the turning to Buttercup Walk when the man challenged him, saying: "What are you looking at?"
Punches were exchanged between the two men causing the victim's injuries.
Police were called but there was no sign of the man and woman when officers arrived.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to call police on 101 quoting 0118S 020417.
