A DOG who was found at half his ideal weight has now found happiness.
Three-year-old Doberman Vegas arrived at Dogs Trust Evesham at just 24 kilogrammes but he has now reached a healthy 40 kilogrammes.
Vegas arrived at the Wickhamford-based rehoming centre in November 2016 and had to be closely monitored before a plan was put in pace for him to gain weight.
He was adopted by dog lover Yasmin Tredell and still has regular visits to the vet to keep an eye on his progress but the signs are positive.
Ms Tredell said: "Vegas is one spoilt pup and so different to the dog I first met a few months ago.
"He has made such amazing progress, growing so much in confidence despite what he must’ve been through.
"He still has still has regular vet check-ups to keep track of his weight gain.
"He’s very sweet natured and just wants to please everyone, he’s a big softie.
"He makes me laugh all the time and I really couldn’t imagine my life without him. He’s my sidekick and the saying ‘a dog is a girl’s best friend’ couldn’t be truer."
