A PERSHORE student has been awarded a scholarship of £1,000 to help with his studies.
Aidan Kelly has been awarded a scholarship by the David Colegrave Foundation (DCF), who is interested in growing stock and commercial horticulture, is studying for a BSc Horticulture at Pershore College in Pershore.
“I am overjoyed to be awarded the scholarship, and have my passion for horticulture recognised," he said.
"The funding will greatly assist my degree and in beginning the journey into the industry, which is a huge relief financially.
"I would like to thank the David Colegrave Foundation for their support."
As part of the DCF Scholarship Season, six students have received student scholarships and two sponsored scholarships were also awarded.
Jeff Colegrave, DCF Trustee, said: “This year’s scholarship season drew in applications from students studying at 19 colleges across the UK.
"Those awarded are all a great investment with interests that include pests and diseases, organic growing methods, sustainability, hydroponics, plant pathology and crop management."
