POLICE are investigating an incident in which a pedestrian was carried along on a car bonnet in Sidbury, Worcester.

An eyewitness said he saw a group of men walking slowly across the road near the Vue cinema, at around 10.10pm last night, when a car beeped at them to get out of the way.

Chris Plant said: "I came into Sidbury to pick my girlfriend up from the cinema and went to park by Benedictos.

"I saw police and a man standing up and he had cuts and bruises on his arm and it looked like he had hurt his head.

My girlfriend said a few blokes were crossing the road slowly, they were out for a 50th birthday party, and a driver was beeping them to hurry up and cross.

"Next thing you know one of the blokes was carried on the bonnet of the car for a fair few feet before stopping at a red light where the bloke came off the bonnet.

"They drove off when the lights turned green and we phoned the police.

"My girlfriend and the man's friends were running up the road trying to take a picture and then a police car bombed up London Road after him."

A West Mercia Police spokesman said officers were investigating but didn't believe a collision had taken place after they were able to view footage from a dash cam.
