WORCESTER Male Voice Choir is celebrating the success of fund-raising Christmas concerts in Pershore Abbey last December, while looking forward to celebrating St George's Day with another rafter-raising performance.
Following the Christmas concerts, the choir recently handed over £2000 to the Mayor of Pershore's Charities.
The Mayor, Cllr Bob Gilmour was presented with a cheque for £2000 by Alan Simmonds, Chairman of the Worcester Male Voice Choir.
A spokesman said: "The Mayor's charities which will benefit from the proceeds from the many events he has organised this year are Kids Run Free and St Richard's Hospice. Representatives from both charities attended the event and are delighted with the funds raised. On the evening of the concert bucket collections also raised £350."
The spokesman added: "Worcester Male Voice Choir, which always holds two Christmas Concerts in Pershore Abbey, which is one of their favourite venues, has 74 choristers and is led by Musical Director Nicolas Wright.
"The next concert for Worcester Male Voice Choir is the St Georges Day Concert, actually being performed on St Georges Day, April 23 at 3pm in St Martin's Church, London Road,Worcester."
The spokesman said: "We will be joined by Kidderminster Valentines Choir and soloist Anna Downes, and it's also a chance for the public to let their hair down, singing and waving their flags on this special day."
