WITNESSES are being sought after a man was assaulted in Stourport at the weekend.
The 18-year-old man was walking from Bridge Street to the Walshes estate in the early hours of Saturday. As he walked up the steps at Betty Dawes Hill at around 12.30am, he was approached by a group of about four males walking down the steps towards Bridge Street. One of the males punched him in the face several times and then ran off with the rest of the group towards the town centre.
The offender is described as a white male, aged around 16-years-old, 6ft tall with a medium build.
PC Norman Roberts, from Stourport police, said: "Fortunately the victim suffered only minor facial cuts and bruises but it is still important that we identify the male responsible for this attack.
"If you were in the area at the time and have any information to help forward our enquiries, please pass this on to us as soon as you can."
Anyone with information can call Stourport police station on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
