MEN and women in Worcest-ershire can learn how to cut their risk of heart disease - the nation's biggest killer - with a new DVD launched by the British Heart Foundation.
The motivational DVD follows five real people who all have a heart health risk due to factors such as smoking and being overweight. Realistic, guilt-free advice from experts and inspiring stories from ordinary people can help viewers take positive action towards their own health.
A simple menu allows people to select the risk factor they want to learn about. Fact sheets - a useful extra on the DVD - can also be downloaded with handy tips and information. In the UK, about one in five men and one in six women die from coronary heart disease. Someone has a heart attack every two minutes - this is the most common cause of premature death in the UK.
To order the DVD, call 0870 600 6566 or visit bhf.org.uk/ publications. The DVD can be ordered for free but a suggested donation of £5 will help the organisation continue its lifesaving work. If you have any questions about your heart health, you can call Heart Information Line on 08450 708070 at local rate.
