*THE world's best DJ could well be living in Worcester.
Sin, in New Street, Worcester, is once again holding heats for the annual DJ of the Year competition. Last year, the bar put forward resident DJ Steve Wilson, who beat thousands of others to be named the fourth best DJ in the world.
Paul Todd, from Sin, said: "I'm hoping it will be a case of double trouble and we'll do the same this year."
The heats begin on Wednesday, July 11, and at the end of the month two people will be chosen to go through to the regional final at The Works, Birmingham.
Winners will go on to play at the Ministry of Sound in London and the grand final will take place in Rome.
Would-be winners are urged to pick up entry forms from Bushwakers or Sin as soon as possible. Or, call Paul Todd on 07919 363737.
* ONE of the world's leading classical ensembles is bringing the Proms to Worcestershire.
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) will perform Here Comes The Proms at the Malvern Theatres on Friday, July 13.
The programme will include summer classics, from Mozart's Marriage Of Figaro to Offenbach's Orpheus In The Underworld.
The CBSO's inaugural concert in 1920 was, in fact, conducted by Sir Edward Elgar. The Malvern concert will begin at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced between £15 and £22, are available on 01684 892277.
