RESEARCHERS and family historians are invited to free conservation clinics run by Herefordshire Council at the Record Office in Harold Street, Hereford.

Designed to give advice on keeping historical documents in good condition, they make 45-minute time slots available for people to book.

The clinics will be held from 9.15am to 1pm on, Saturday, July 14, Satur-day, August 11, Saturday, September 8 and Saturday, November 10.

Archive conservator Lorna Lee said: "With the popularity of family history growing, I thought it would be a good idea to help researchers look after the memorabilia they collect on their quests, such as birth certificates, photographs and newspaper cuttings.

"There is a whole wealth of historical information stored in attics and garages. We hope our clinics will help people to keep their treasures preserved for future generations to ex-plore and enjoy."

Anyone interested is urged to book as soon as possible by calling 01432 260750 or 260058.
