TWO brothers are to take on an adventurous challenge by walking Hadrian's Wall.
But their 84-mile long trip will have a twist - they will walk it in just two days in July. Karl Sollis, of Claines, Worcester, and his 40-year-old brother Steve, of St Albans, will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support when they take on the challenge.
Karl, aged 36, said: "It was an idea of mine that I had been kicking around for a number of years and at the end of last year. I just decided 2007 was the year it was going to happen. The original idea was to do the walk over three or four days. However, someone said if you do it two days he would donate £50. So two days it was."
The brothers will give the money to Macmillan Cancer Support to thank the nurses for their help when their family was affected by cancer. The brothers are now training hard for the walk and Steve recently came third in the St Albans half marathon.
Karl trains in the Wye Forest and on the Malverns to prepare for the trip.
"We have fantastic support from our friends and family, many of whom have already donated money or are doing the rounds with sponsor forms or have passed the web site link around," he said.
"Kellie, my wife, and her family are supporting us during the walk. Kellie is meeting us at the half-way point to restock us with food and will be looking after Steve and I after the event."
