THE Droitwich Spa Water Festival has been cancelled because of the poor weather forecast for the weekend.
Margaret Rowley, chairman of Droitwich Canals Trust, said: "This is a great disappointment, particularly in view of the amount of preparation which has already gone into the event.
"The duck race will be run at a later date."
Visitors to the festival, which was due to take place in Vines Park on Sunday, were set to enjoy boat trips on the Pamela May and Nellie, music and dance from the Bassoon Choir and Cast Off, and have the chance to look at plans for the restoration project for the Droitwich Canals.
