A NUMBER of schools across the county have been closed following the floods, which have affected many areas.
The list of closures so far includes Powick Primary, Rushwick Primary, and St Mathias Primary at Malvern.
A spokesman at St Matthias Primary School said: "Teachers are unable to get to us from Worcester so we have decided to close the school."
Madresfield Primary at Malvern is also partly closed because teachers for classes one and two have been unable to get to work.
At Dyson Perrins High School in Malvern, several buses have been unable to get children in to school and other pupils have been given permission to go home.
Headteacher David Griffin said: "We are open today but we do have a number of students unable to get here. The buses have been unable to come from Powick and Rushwick."
Schools in Tenbury Wells were back open today, however, after the town was swamped by the flood waters.
A spokesman said: "We have got most pupils in and only one member of staff who can't get here. The only bus unable to get here was from Lindridge and Newnham Bridge, so we have a few pupils still off from those areas."
