TWO people were taken to hospital suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning, after they were taken ill while sleeping in a tent in Bewdley.
West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to Ling Farm, in Kidderminster Road, in Bewdley, at around 11.30pm last night (Wednesday, December 28).
A spokesman from HWFRS said the carbon monoxide leak was caused by a blocked flue.
A WMAS spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered two patients, a man and a woman, who were suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation from a fire.
“The woman, who had reportedly lost consciousness initially, was fully conscious on arrival of ambulance staff.
“After receiving treatment at the scene, both patients were transported to Worcester Royal Hospital.”
A HWFRS spokesman added: "A male and a female were taken to hospital as they were suffering the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning."
One ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and the trust's hazardous area response team were sent to the scene.
A HWFRS crew from Kidderminster fire station and Bewdley fire station also attended the incident.
