SCHOOLS were forced to close following floods in Tenbury Wells as the River Teme broke its banks.
Lindridge Primary School, Lindridge, near Tenbury Wells and Tenbury Wells High School in Oldwood Road, Tenbury Wells, were forced to close today.
The high school was also used as an emergency care centre after 25 people were evacuated from Church Street, Tenbury Wells.
The Bridge Hotel car park in Tenbury Wells was flooded and parents have been warned by police not to let children play near the water which may contain raw sewage.
A spokesman for the Environment Agency said the floods could be a record for the Tenbury Wells area.
