A woman was left bemused after Worcester City Council spelled the word "avenue" wrong on a street sign outside her house. Pamela Hooper, aged 62, of Cedar Avenue, Brickfields, Worcester, noticed that avenue was spelled "aveune" on the sign. Mrs Hooper, who believes the sign was installed three weeks ago, said: "I don't think the council is very good if they can't even spell. It doesn't say much for education these days." The council was unavailable for comment.
