A PAUL Weller fan has paid the ultimate tribute to his idol by having his signature tattooed on his leg.

Earlier this week, Martyn Reynolds was lucky enough to meet the man known as the Mod Father before a gig in Plymouth.

After getting his hero to sign his calf in black marker pen, Mr Reynolds, of Aconbury Close, Newtown, Worcester, decided to get a permanent reminder of the meeting and have the signature tattooed.

"I'm quite a spur of the moment kind of person," said the 43-year-old self-employed plumber.

A lifelong fan of the British rock legend, who fronted the Jam and the Style Council, Mr Reynolds has been to more than 50 concerts and met Weller in person a number of times.

"He's a really nice bloke, just really approachable," he said. "The type of man you could have a pint with. I can't really remember when I first starting liking him, I've been completely obsessed since I first heard The Jam."

Mr Reynolds can remember watching The Jam perform when Town Called Malice was at number one in the charts and even has Paul Weller parties at home, when his partner and step children listen to Weller's records and watch his music videos.

"I can't wait to show him the tattoo next time I see him," added Mr Reynolds.
