POSTAL services in Worcestershire and Herefordshire will be plunged into chaos next week when 1,100 workers go on strike.
Following a meeting of the Postal Executive Council, it has been announced Royal Mail post men and women across the country will take a 24 hour strike action between 3am on Friday, June 29 until 3am the following day.
This will mean there will be no collections or deliveries across the two counties during this period.
In a separate dispute, staff at the Post Office Ltd crown offices in Worcester's Foregate Street and Hereford city centre will strike between 6am and noon on Friday, June 29 and Monday, July 2 - primarily over pay and the future of the crown office network, particularly the movement of post office services into WH Smith stores nationally.
