PETE Adams profiles the stars of the Worcestershire music scene. This week: AFTERVIEW.
WHO: Gary Harper (guitar/lead vocals), Russell Cook (bass/backing vocals), Raychel Healey (keys), Martin Pryce (drums).
FROM: Worcester.
SOUNDS LIKE: Afterview are one of Worcester's hardest working bands, notching up more gigs in the average month than some bands manage in a lifetime.
Splicing passionately melodic tune-smithery with thundering slabs of power rock, the four-piece's stage show has a high-octane energy that suggests they were born to be playing stadiums. Inspired by a wide range of influences including Foreigner, The Cure and Mogwai, Afterview are looking forward to a bright future.
FACT: Afterview's new EP is released on Monday, July 2.
GIGS: Friday, June 29 - London Calling at The Fly, London. Friday, July 6 - Benefit at Marlpool School, Kidderminster. Friday, July 13 - Thom Donaldson Charity Gig at RSRE, Malvern. Saturday, July 14 - Zanzibar, Liverpool.
