MORE heavy rainfall could lead to further flooding misery in Worcestershire today, according to weatherman Paul Damari.

Another 20-40mm is expected to fall today as thunder storms sweep the county.

"Unfortunately this could mean more floods for people in some areas" Mr Damari said. "The ground is saturated now and so all the rain falling is just going to be running off."

The county was hit by the worst storms in a decade on Tuesday night causing chaos for motorists and homeowners.

Shrawley and Astley were the worst hit by the torrential rain with a number of homes flooded.

"We have had 6.6mm of rain already today in half an hour," Mr Damari said. "The good news is that after today it should start to get better. Tomorrow there will be sunshine and scattered showers and on Sunday there will be lighter showers.

"Next week is going to be a lot cooler than average for the time of year, around 15 to 17 degrees celsius but it will start to dry out. Then we have to wait and see.

"Surely with all this that mother nature has thrown at us in the pasat week, it should start to get better soon."
