A LORRY driver had a lucky escape when a brick was thrown through his windscreen as he travelled along the M5 in Worcestershire.

The brick made a hole in the windscreen of the lorry, causing £200 of damage.

The driver, a man from Nottingham, was shaken but unhurt.

The brick was thrown from a bridge near the M42 junction at 4.30pm yesterday. Two youths were seen running away. Police believe it is linked to similar incidents near the junction over the last few weeks.

On the morning of Wednesday, June 13, a cone was thrown on to the motorway, causing £200 damage to a Vauxhall car.

And on the evening of Friday, May 18, four drivers reported their cars had been hit by eggs.

Police say throwing any objects on to a motorway is dangerous and irresponsible, and could cause a serious or fatal collision.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Bromsgrove police on 08457 444888 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
