A COURT case has been adjourned because the defendant has been "lost".
Dale Howard, aged 18 - 19 on Saturday - of Larch Road, Rainbow Hill, Worcester, was to go before city's magistrates on Wednesday charged with common assault and battery.
However, on Monday Howard appeared at Worcester Crown Court where he was sent to jail for eight months. The problem is that the defence team do not know which prison he went to.
Amer Hussain, defending, said Mr Howard "never made it" to the prison he understood his client was going to.
"We basically don't know where he is," he admitted.
"But we are trying to find him. I think the best option is to adjourn until we find him and then get a production order.
"That will take, realistically I imagine, about two weeks," he said.
The case was put back until Howard is located.
