PROSPECTIVE students will have the opportunity to discover a new future in higher education at the University of Worcester's open day this Sunday.

A wealth of full, part-time and flexible courses to help people of all ages and backgrounds take their first steps into university study are available at Worcester. Lecturers and staff will be on hand between 10am and 3pm to give talks and exhibitions on both post-graduate and undergraduate courses and advice on accommodation and fees.

Sports, computing, teaching, business, nursing and social care are just some of the hundreds of courses available. New courses include journalism, marketing, advertising and public relations, forensic biology, sports therapy and paramedic training.

There will be a chance to take a campus tour, meet current students and see the university's facilities.

University vice-chancellor Professor David Green said: "Often people don't realise that there are a variety of routes into higher education including traditional A-Levels, HNDs, BTECs, NVQs and Access courses. Worcester is also a very welcoming place, with a wide variety of students. In fact up to 45 per cent of our students are aged 21 or over. Sunday is a great opportunity for people of all ages and educational backgrounds to discover more about university study."
