A MAN and a woman have been taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital following an accident involving two cars.
The accident took place on the A44 at Egdon, between the Drakes Broughton turn and the Berkeley Arms, just before 4pm.
Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were dispatched to the scene after a number of 999 calls to the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The rapid response vehicle arrived on scene within six minutes of the emergency call.
"Ambulance staff found two people who had been injured in a serious road traffic crash.
"A 44 year old woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries, mainly bruising. A 34 year old man was also treated at the scene for minor injuries, mainly seatbelt bruising and also a minor cut to his arm.
"Both patients were taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
"Given the level of damage to the vehicles, there seems little doubt that both patients have been extremely lucky as the seriousness of the crash could have caused them serious injury."
Anyone who saw the collision - or either of the vehicles being driven immediately beforehand - is asked to contact PC Paul Cound on 08457 444 888, extension 3644, quoting 421S/190607.
