A HUGE fund-raising campaign has begun to send a group of Worcester sixth formers on the trip of a lifetime to Morocco.

Six students from New College Worcester, the former RNIB college, and six from King's School are joining forces for the trip later this year. They each need to raise about £1,200 to pay for the 10 days of trekking, and have so far been helped by a donation of more than £1,300 from Worcester's DHL.

Phil Bremen, community activities co-ordinator at New College Worcester, said: "We are very grateful for the donation from DHL. This is a great opportunity for our students. They will spend time trekking on foot and on camels and will be camping out.

They will also get the chance to spend a night in Marrakesh."

Mr Brennen said the trip was due to take place in the October half term and students would be under taking a number of fund-raising activities between now and then.

He added: "It is great for our students to team up with students from King's to share this amazing experience. I'm sure they will have a great time."
