WORCESTER MP Mike Foster has joined the digital revolution by launching a new video blog on his website.

The Labour whip has used his first blog to continue his ongoing campaign to try to persuade the Guildhall to re-introduce weekly bin collections in Worcester.

Mr Foster said he intends to update the video blog on a regular basis.

Video blogs have grown in popularity all over the world and are routinely used by businesses, the media and the general public as a way of communicating online.

Mr Foster said: "It is important my constituents know where I stand on key issues. Using a video blog brings home to people the reality of the issue being discussed.

"In this first blog, I am filmed at home in Worcester, with my green and black wheelie bins. There is a serious problem facing local people with the way in which the city council has decided to collect our waste."

As we reported earlier this month, Mr Foster has sent a letter to 1,000 homes to try to gauge opinion on the Guildhall's fortnightly bin collection service.

The council has already stated it is happy with the current system, which has seen recycling increase seven per cent, despite a call from Mr Foster for more frequent waste collections.
