A CARPENTER was seconds away from disaster after part of a tree fell though the back of his car.
Ashley Bullock is used to dealing with big lumps of wood, but he got more than he bargained for when part of a tree fell through the window of his Mitsubishi 4x4, which was parked in Albany Terrace, off The Tything, Worcester, at 4pm yesterday.
The 10ft branch snapped off and fell through the window just as he was preparing to get his tools from the back of the car.
Mr Bullock, aged 29, from Bromyard, said: "I felt quite lucky not to be in the car at the time."
Fortunately Mr Bullock had the tools for the job and was able to chop up the branch with a handsaw, ready for Worcester City Council to take it away.
He said he had no idea how much it would cost to replace the rear window of his car.
